Store-Bought Chicken Tastes Like Disappointment

If you're like me and you're a Roots and Refuge fan, you already know one of Jess's sayings is:

"Store-bought tomatoes taste like disappointment."

She's not wrong. They do!

The same thing can be said about chicken.

After eating chickens I've raised, grocery store chicken just doesn't taste the same to me.

You know how people say, "Tastes like chicken," when they're talking about something bland? ...chicken shouldn't be bland.

When I think about chicken, I think about cutting into it and seeing the juices run onto my plate. I think about meat that's tender and full of flavor with nothing more than a little butter, salt, pepper, and garlic.

It shouldn't need a dozen ingredients just to make it taste good.

Good chicken has a richness to it. It's so full of flavor that the chicken is actually the star of the meal instead of something you have to cover up.

Girl! If you're taking the time to cook for your family, I think you deserve chicken that's worth putting on the table.

You deserve to experience chicken the way I think it should taste.

Simple.

Flavorful.

The kind that makes everyone reach for seconds.

Let this be your sign to try pasture-raised chicken.

Chickens will be ready for pickup on August 15th!
